Private Advisors' dedicated private equity investment team seeks to source, research, and access the highest quality private equity investment opportunities through a broad and deep network that has been developed over the last decade. Private Advisors has also developed a proprietary due diligence process tailored to the unique risks and opportunities in the lower middle market including an innovative human capital assessment program. We believe that our manager selection process is unique in the industry due to the application of our proprietary and innovative human capital assessment program. Small Company Buyout Private Advisors launched its dedicated Small Company Buyout investment capability in 2001. The Small Company Buyout investment capability focuses solely on lower middle market partnerships located in North America. We define this market segment as partnerships with under $750 million in committed capital (with a primary emphasis on funds under $500 million). These partnerships generally invest in companies with enterprise values under $150 million. The strategy allocates both to traditional buyouts and also to opportunistic strategies such as distressed private equity. Co-Investment Private Advisors launched its dedicated co-investment program in 2006 to provide investors with access to co-investment opportunities generated through the firm's expansive private equity relationships across the lower middle market. The objective of the co-investment funds is to generate superior private equity returns by investing alongside sponsors we know and trust and who will lead all aspects of the transaction. We also seek to capture a meaningful fee savings arbitrage by building a diversified portfolio with little or no fees or carried interest paid to the underlying private equity sponsor, which we believe will result in an enhanced net IRR to Limited Partners.
